Getting Started

How do I capture an event?

There are three ways to capture events:

  1. Instagram Share Extension: Screenshot an event post → Tap Share → Select "EventSnag"
  2. Camera: Open EventSnag → Tap camera icon → Snap a photo of a physical flyer
  3. Photo Library: Open EventSnag → Tap photo library icon → Select a saved screenshot

How accurate is the AI extraction?

EventSnag's AI has been tested at ~95% accuracy over 2+ months of production testing. However, always review the extracted details before saving. You can edit any field if the AI makes a mistake.

Do I need to sign in?

No! You can use EventSnag without signing in. Events are stored locally on your device. Sign in is only required for:

How do I connect Google Calendar?

  1. Open EventSnag → Go to Settings
  2. Tap "Connect Google Calendar"
  3. Sign in with your Google account
  4. Grant calendar permissions

Can I disconnect Google Calendar?

Yes! Go to Settings → Tap "Disconnect Google Calendar". This revokes EventSnag's access but does not delete previously synced events from your calendar.

Which calendar does EventSnag use?

EventSnag syncs to your Google account's primary calendar by default. You can change this in Settings.

Notifications & Roundups

When do I get roundup notifications?

Can I change notification times?

Not yet, but we're considering adding custom notification times in a future update. Let us know if this is important to you!

How do I disable notifications?

iOS Settings → Notifications → EventSnag → Toggle off "Allow Notifications"

Troubleshooting

The AI extracted wrong information. What do I do?

No problem! On the event preview screen, you can edit any field before saving. Tap any field to make changes.

My event is showing the wrong year

EventSnag automatically corrects past dates to the next occurrence. If an event happened last year, it assumes you mean next year. You can manually edit the date if this is incorrect.

EventSnag isn't syncing to Google Calendar

Try these steps:

  1. Check that you're signed in to Google (Settings → Google Calendar)
  2. Verify calendar permissions are granted
  3. Try disconnecting and reconnecting Google Calendar
  4. Check your internet connection
  5. If the issue persists, contact us at [email protected]

The app crashed or froze

Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the problem continues, please contact support with details about what you were doing when it crashed.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

All events are stored locally on your device using iOS Core Data. We do not maintain a central database of your events.

Can I export my events?

Yes! Tap the share button in your Events list to export a formatted text version of your events. Full export functionality (CSV, iCal) is coming soon.

How do I delete my data?

Do I need to pay to use EventSnag?

No! EventSnag is free to use with unlimited event capture and storage.

What does EventSnag Pro include?

EventSnag Pro is currently not required. We may introduce premium features in the future, but all core functionality will remain free.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → EventSnag → Cancel Subscription
